Hotkeys are rebindable, though control groups and F keys are not. Remastered is localized in 13 languages: English, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (LatAm), Spanish (European), Polish, Italian, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese. Support for the game includes online matchmaking, an APM counter, anti-hack support, LAN support, and new chat channel functionality along with legacy chat channel and custom game lobbies. StarEdit was made accessible, but later support was dropped for it due to more viable third party alternatives. ![]() The spectator mode will be updated, allowing observers to zoom up and down from the battlefield. Hitting the "F7" key can toggle environmental effects. Within the game, players can toggle between 4K resolution and the original's graphics settings for the visual effects by hitting the "F5" key. Dialogue and audio are revised, the audio sample rate increased to 44kHz. Classic cinematics are rendered in 1080p, and gameplay will have 4k resolution. Illustrated segments within missions will vary in depiction, ranging from a wide view of the environment to a close-up of a character's face. The briefings from the original game are retained, but will receive added visual effects. The comics replace segments of the original game where green text was used on a black screen to convey narrative. The campaign is present as well, with comic-style interludes and briefings between and during missions. The game features updated visuals, some polished versions of the old sprites, some built from the ground up based off of the ideas of the original artists and concept art. Some bug fixes are present, such as the sprite limitations preventing valkyries and carrier from shooting, but otherwise bugs that were molded into features are maintained, and pathing will remain the same as in the original game. ![]() It maintains the balance of 1.18 for Brood War, as well as run in the old gameplay engine. When it is happening the “Options” button will cause the game to just sit there and never get the Options window up.StarCraft: Remastered is a remake of the best-selling StarCraft computer game. No idea if related, but I also end up with a dozen or more “Blizzard Browser” processes in my Task Manager that persist even if I exit. The game will just start working fine again for long stretches even (a week+) and then stop working for long stretches. Sometimes when I click the map to select it, but before saying Ok to go into the lobby, I can see the map in the preview, other times not. Other times it happens the image was there originally, but after failing to create a game if I go back it’s gone. Much of the time this happens, on first launching the game the little StarCraft Remastered image top right flashes and then disappears and that box is blank. I don’t even have other players involved yet, this is happening even if I tried to make a game of myself vs all cpus. Like selecting a color doesn’t remove the color from the list for other players for awhile, and won’t give me the option to hit OK. When they are there, it often doesn’t seem to register my changes for a half dozen seconds. Or only appear after waiting for many seconds. ![]() ![]() Other times it gives me a list of players but the race and color buttons for each are missing. Many times the resulting boxes are empty.
